Rules Advisory Committee

       

The Cedar River Watershed District has completed their 10 year plan.  The next step in the process for a new watershed district is to develop rules to implement the 10 year plan.  The Board of Managers has selected residents of the watershed to serve on the Rules Advisory Committee along with a committee of technical experts.  The Board looked for a wide range of expertise to serve on these committees. 

Members of the Rules Committee include:

• Jim Gebhardt, CRWD Board
• Harlen Peck, CRWD Board
• Ken Penkava, Lansing Township (Elected twp.)
• Sara Sayles, Rural Resident
• Marian Clennon, Austin City Council
• Jack Heather, Retired DNR and Steele County Resident (Wildlife/Environmental)
• Mike Ankeny, Business/Economic Development
• Dave Hillier, Mower County Commissioner (Elected County)
• Dave Erickson, Dodge County Commissioner (Elected County)
• Tom Purcell, Resident of Austin (Urban Resident)
• Geoff Baker, Resident of Austin (Urban Resident)
  

 

The purpose of this committee is to acquaint themselves with the challenges of the watershed through meetings and then draft rules for the watershed district. 

A committee of technical experts has been selected to assist on setting standards for the proposed rules. 

Members of the Technical Committee include:
