New Cost Share Program
The Cedar River Watershed District has a new cost share program for those in the Watershed. Cost share dollars are available for Rain Gardens, Wetland Restoration Retention and Culvert Assessment (see information below).
First Come, First Serve until funding is gone
Eligibility is relatively loose. Projects that meet
general criteria will be eligible for program.
All projects require a 10 year commitment.
Funding will be approved at monthly CRWD board
meetings (3rd Wed. of Month).
Cedar River Staff will over-see projects and
monitor compliance.
2010 Applications must be in by 12/30/2010.
Implementation must be completed by
12/30/1011 (unless otherwise approved by
board).

Rain Gardens
Summary: Provide a Cost-Share incentive for citizens and business to treat storm water by constructing rain gardens for treatment.
Eligibility: Any project that fits the basic criteria and goals of a Rain Garden.
Funding: 50% Cost-Share, Not to exceed $2,000
Budget: $5000

Wetland Restoration Retention
Summary: Provide Cost-Share incentive for projects that provide addition storage than what would be designed for a typical wetland restoration project. Funds may also be used to cost-share a wetland restoration which is not enrolled in a program.
Eligibility: Projects which restore a drained or partially drained wetland and maximize storm water treatment and storage.
Funding: 100% of costs associated with constructing project. Construction plans and cost-estimate need to be provided prior to approval.
Budget: $5,000

Culvert Assessment
Summary: 50% Cost Share assistance to analyze flows through township road culverts. Right now, many townships do not have the resources to do a lot of engineering. This program provides incentive for them to look at the flows and use the information to take a design approach to culvert replacement. Help Townships Right-Size culverts, not necessarily Down-Size.
Eligibility: Township road culverts which are not under the jurisdiction of the County.
Funding: 50% Cost-Share, not to exceed $500 for an
assessment.
Budget: $12,500 |
